Geo Network and BOL Network fight intensifies

AsiaGeo Network and BOL Network fight intensifies

Dispatch from Islamabad

“Legal and moral fight between Geo Network and BOL Network has intensified and first round has apparently won by Geo by placing its former Managing Director Azhar Abbas in the folds of Bol”, claim media and journalistic circles in Islamabad.

However such circles are shy to give reasons why and how Mr. Azhar Abbas is working for Geo Networking while sitting in BOL Network?  Such circles just gave an example of past when Azhar abbas went to Dawn English and created such a system that allegedly caused the fall of Dawn English Television Channel consequently and Azhar Abbas came back to Geo.

“This is old strategy of media houses to plant people in rival groups and play havoc with future of contenders”, said one senior journalist of Pakistan.

Such discussions are a part of our mind-sets that are polluted with conspiracy theories. Situation is very clear—-Geo does not want BOL to work and if BOL fails to work then Azhar Abbas has a professional right to re-join Geo again and there is no harm in it.  BOL top leadership is meeting owners of different news channels and members of Pakistan Broadcasting association (PBA) to develop its clout and fighting strongly in courts of law and in the corroders of power for its right to exist.

This fights has involved unprofessional tactics in real sense. BOL is blaming Geo to be a stooge of Indian Intelligence agency RAW in response of alleged campaign of Geo to paint BOL as part of Pakistan Intelligence Agency ISI.  So in such circumstances, senior and clean journalists are refraining from joining BOL to keep themselves away from this dirt of allegations and counter allegation fight. This scenario is supporting of course Geo as BOL has already failed to open offices in major cities of the country and it looks more a Social media or website organisation than a real entity.
