NEW DELHI: A three-storey building under construction collapsed in the Indian western state of Goa on Saturday that left at least eight persons dead and dozens others trapped under the debris, Indian media reported.
The incident occurred in the town of Canacona, some 80 kilometers to the south of Goa’s capital of Panjim, where up to 75 people were reportedly inside the under construction building when it collapsed.
The rescue teams rushed to the site and began efforts to pull out the dead bodies and trapped people from under the debris.
The injured were sent to the public health center (PHC).
