94,000 Kashmiris killed by Indian forces during last 66 years: Minister

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: As many as 94,000 Kashmiris were killed while over 100,000 houses were destroyed by the Indian security forces in the occupied territory during the last 66 years, the minister for Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan Barjees Tahir told media in Islamabad.

In a news conference held in connection with the black day being observed across the country on Monday, the minister said that 30,000 women were made widows and 100,000 children were made orphans in Kashmir during the same period.

The minister said that the continuing Indian atrocities and human rights abuses have given extraordinary importance to Kashmir issue at international level.

Barjees Tahir said there is no justification of deploying 800,000 Indian troops in Jammu and Kashmir by India.

Moreover, he reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to continue political, moral and diplomatic support to Kashmiris for their right to self-determination.

The minister said that Pakistan wants to resolve the issue in a peaceful way through dialogue. He said that we want to resolve the issue according to the United Nations Security Council Resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiris.

Barjees Tahir urged India to accept right of self-determination of Kashmiri which was pledged by Indian leaders decades ago.
