Over 160 persons trapped and 10 dead in Malin village of Maharashtra landslide
Monitoring Desk: Pune, India: Massive land slid in Malin village of Maharashtra Pune district has killed 10 persons while over 160 are trapped under the debris and predictions of more rain in the next few hours is the biggest challenge for rescue teams to rescue trapped people.
According to Pune Radio, a portion of hill came crashing down on the village due to heavy rain. The authorities are facing hurdles in rescue operations as the village is located in a remote area, about 12 km from Dimbhe dam.
There is no mobile communication network works in this remote area therefore no independent information are reaching to Pune and only official wireless system is providing official information.
As many as 80 workers of Indian National Disaster Response Force have reached landslide affected Ambegaon and joined in the rescue operations, while 220 more are on their way to the spot, a home ministry spokesperson informed to Pune Radio.
