Foreign OfficeIndia violated ceasefire over 90 times in 2016: Foreign Office

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Foreign Office has urged India to stop ceasefire violations at the Line of Control (LoC), saying the neighboring country has violated ceasefire for more than 90 times during this year.

“India again resorts to unprovoked firing at LoC; during 2016 India violated ceasefire more than 90 times. This must stop,” the Foreign Office Spokesman Nafees Zakaria said on Monday in a twitter message.

The latest incident of ceasefire violation committed by Indian border forces took place on Sunday in Khoiratta area of Bhimber sector in Azad Jammu and Kashmir; however no loss of life occurred.

The relations between Pakistan and India were further deteriorated after Indian military base was attacked in Uri town of Occupied Kashmir.

On Sunday while talking to newsmen in Baku, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif once again asked Indian leadership to initiate dialogue process with seriousness for resolution of Kashmir dispute which according to him, was the main cause of unrest in the region.
