India attempting to divert Pakistan's attention from war on terror: ISPR

LONDON: The Director General Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) Major General Asim Saleem Bajwa has regretted that India is attempting to divert Pakistan’s attention from war against terrorism through unabated border violations.

The DG ISPR made these remarks while addressing a think-tank of Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) in the United Kingdom.

On January 6, the Foreign Office spokesperson Tasneem Aslam in a statement also said that Pakistan sees the escalation of tension by India on the Line of Control (LoC) and Working Boundary through continuous unprovoked firing and targeting of civilians, as an attempt to distract our armed forces from its valiant mission against all terrorists.

The Pakistan’s armed forces have been carrying out a full-fledged military operation Zarb-e-Azb against various outlawed militant groups in the northwestern tribal region since June last year.

In his address at the RUSI, the DG ISPR said that the security forces have so far killed 2,000 terrorists in the North Waziristan tribal region while its 200 soldiers embraced martyrdom in the operation Zarb-e-Azb and 800 others sustained injuries.

The ISPR Chief said the Army Chief has clearly directed to carry out operation against terrorists without any discrimination.
