LAHORE, Pakistan: The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Khan has called Altaf Hussain a ‘traitor’ and asked Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif to let the PTI be de-seated rather than asking the Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) Chief to take back the resolution against the PTI.
“They are waiting for a traitor like Altaf Hussain to take back the resolution? We’d much rather be out of the assemblies,” Imran said while addressing a large public gathering in Pattoki town of Punjab’s Kasur district on Wednesday.
His remarks came after the Speaker National Assembly Sardar Ayaz Sadiq today held a telephonic conversation with Altaf Hussain and requested him to withdraw his party’s motion to de-seat PTI members of the National Assembly.
“I heard today that our speaker called Altaf Hussain asking them to take back resolution against PTI. The man is a traitor,” Imran Khan said.
Imran Khan also criticized the prime minster for using the Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman for his hidden objectives.
“I tell Nawaz Sharif stop hiding behind Maulana Fazlur Rehman and that traitor Altaf; deseat us. We will come back stronger,” the PTI Chief said.
“We will hit the streets and tour all of Pakistan; we will not let the status quo fleece the people of Pakistan,” he added.
Earlier in the day, the prime minister while speaking in the National Assembly once again appealed to the JUI-F and the MQM to review their withdraw their motions regarding de-seating of 28 PTI members.
