Mystery surrounds the dramatic escape of TTP commander Ehsanullah Ehsan has now unfolded that he escaped with the help of the then government of former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
Ehsan was involved in the Army Public School (APS) Peshawar massacre.
The notorious terrorist of Fitna-ul-Khawarij (official name of TTP), during a session on X Space managed by the fugitive Adil Raja (who is currently residing in London), expressed his support for former Prime Minister Imran Khan. His discussion on that X Space left no doubt that the Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) had been in close contact, and that PTI had acted as a direct facilitator of terrorists.
Ehsan dramatically surrendered (through provincial government of PTI in KP) to the government and later he disappeared/escaped, eventually reaching Afghanistan, where he has been living as a guest of the Afghan Taliban. In a short audio message released on January 11, 2020, the former militant spokesman Ehsanullah Ehsan disclosed that he had managed to escape from the custody of Pakistani security authorities. The government did not share this information with the public until Ehsan himself revealed it.
It is pertinent to mention that even before Ehsan’s audio tape surfaced, Indian television channels had already reported that he was no longer in Pakistan’s custody. Ehsan, whose real name is Liaqat Ali, had surrendered through the PTI-led government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP) on February 5, 2017, under an agreement. He was the public face of Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) and later Jamaat-ul-Ahrar, and was involved in several major terrorist incidents in Pakistan, including the assassination attempt on Nobel Laureate Malala Yousafzai on October 9, 2012, and the attack on APS Peshawar.
Ehsan’s escape was first reported by the Indian weekly newspaper Sunday Guardian Live (TSG) on January 18, 2020. The publication is simultaneously issued from Delhi and Mumbai.
At the time of his escape, sane elements within the media raised serious questions, claiming that his escape would have been impossible without government assistance. They also questioned why the government hide such crucial information from the public that Ehsan was no longer in custody. The then government of Imran Khan, both in the Centre and in KP, snubbed journalists and suppressed inquiries so that no one could further question the government.
Now, Ehsan’s recent discussion in Adil Raja’s X Space has helped clear the clouds surrounding his escape. There is now no doubt left that Ehsanullah Ehsan managed to flee Pakistan with the help of the then Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party, PTI.
