KHAR: A remote controlled Improvised Explosive Device (IED) went off in Bajaur Agency’s area, Chamarkand, killing a member of the peace committee and injuring another person, officials said.

Khater Jan, the peace committee member, was attacked with an IED near Bar Chamarkand when he was inspecting the site of an earlier explosion, Political administration officials confirmed.

Khater Jan died in the blast while another person Sattar Khan was injured and shifted to Peshawar for treatment.

Jan was a key militant commander but had revoked militancy and was fighting the miscreants.
