The Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) initiated NOL Card to promote public transportation making travelling easier. This rechargeable card lets its users travel all around Dubai without carrying cash for tickets. It can be used at all public metro and bus stations. For unregistered cards, the maximum amount of recharge is AED 1000.


For registered cards, the maximum amount of recharge is AED 5000.

To top up your NOL card online, you have to follow the following procedure:

  • Visit RTA’s official website.
  • Then, from the options given on the website, select NOL Card Balance.
  • Enter your NOL ID.
  • Then, a new window will demand from you the amount of recharge.
  • Confirm the amount and verify your card details. You can pay through credit cards, net banking and nobody.
  • After confirmation, proceed to pay.
  • After 45 mins to 4 hours, the amount will be added to your NOL card.

The process to Do NOL Card Recharge from Vending Machines

You can also recharge your NOL card using the ticket vending machines at metro and bus stations. Here’s how you can do it:

  • Place the card on the evening machine.
  • It will display the current Balance and card type.
  • Then, move to the recharge option.
  • Choose the NOL recharge amount.
  • You can either recharge through cash or ca ard. For money, insert the exact amount for the recharge you need because the machine does not return the change.
  • Then, the machine will display a “Print Reciept’ screen to confirm your payment.
  • Not taking out your card is advisable if the ‘Print Receipt’ screen is not visible.

How to Recharge your NOL card Using S’Hail app?

Recharging Your OL card is even easier using your smartphone. Follow these simple steps to use S’hail app  for NOL card balance recharge:

  • Install the S’hail app from Google Play Store, App Store, or Huawei App Gallery.
  • After installing, login into it by using your NOL ID.
  • After logging in, choose the Top-up NOL card option.
  • Select the amount of recharge.
  • Pay the amount using your credit card or Internet banking.
  • Then, wait 45 minutes to 4 hours for the amount to transfer to your card.
