Honda BikesHonda CG125 Customer reviews and ratings

Honda 125 has been ruling the streets of Pakistan since it first launched in 1980. It is, hands down, the most famous motorbike in the local market. Due to it’s reliability, easy maintenance and readily available parts. But has the quality persisted over the decades, or has it steadily declined? Let’s decide this based on the customer reviews and ratings of the Honda CG125.

Honda CG 125 2023 Price in Pakistan

Overview

Honda CG 125 has a Euro 2-complied overhead valve engine, a kick-start mechanism and a 4-speed transmission. The decoration graphics are redesigned, as well as the seat and the layout of the instrument cluster, to give this long-lasting model a refreshed appearance. It produces 11.0 horsepower (7.3kw) at 8,000rpm and 9.5 newton-meters of torque at 6,500rpm. With a fuel economy of 35-40km per liter and a maximum speed of 120km/h. The fuel tank has a capacity of 9.2 liters with 2 liters in reserve.

Another variant, CG 125 SE, launched in 2019, has a 5-speed transmission instead of the original 4-speed and electric start. It is one of the few motorcycles offered by Honda in Pakistan.

It is currently available for 185,900 Pakistani Rupees as of 2023.

Customer reviews and ratings of the Honda CG125

Let’s be honest; Atlas Honda has made no changes to the latest CG 125 model. You will find the same old trend of modified stickers and slight cosmetic changes in the bike.

There is a lot of debate about the quality standards of Atlas Honda bikes. Over the past few years, the company has massively increased the prices of its bikes multiple times during the same year. Customers have many concerns regarding the dropped quality standards with the increasing costs. Many customers have experienced manufacturing faults in their newly purchased bikes. Moreover, the quality of body parts has also become poor as most metal parts are slowly replaced by hard plastics, as reported by bike owners.

This is an open debate if the quality of the bikes is dropping or not. However, the massively increasing prices of cycles can not justify the reason behind the increase. More importantly, the company officials have not taken any official stance to explain the price factor. It is noted, however, that the Honda CG125 SE has slightly sturdy built quality.

Final Thoughts

The quality has dipped with time. But the popularity of this motorbike remains. Primarily because of the readily available and cheap parts and service, people don’t tend to make a big fuss about the quality. Maybe it’s just a big corporation’s ploy to keep the money flowing.
