HEC Chairman emphasizes on more student-centered focus in universities

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Chairman Higher Education Commission (HEC) Professor Dr. Tariq Banuri has stressed the need of more student-centered focus in universities that enables them to meet the challenges of practical world.

In a Press Conference in Islamabad, the Chairman HEC laid emphasis on safeguarding student rights by enabling them to become successful citizens, providing support student services and scaling up the capacity building of teaching and non-teaching faculty and staff.

   

Dr. Tariq Banuri said that that the issue of quality is of fundamental importance and steps must be taken to uplift the research capacity of faculty and quality of journals as majority of the journals are not rated.

Earlier in the day, the Chairman HEC Professor Dr. Tariq Banuri kicked off a Tree Plantation Drive by planting a sapling on HEC premises.

All the Senior Management Committee members also planted saplings during the campaign.
