Women going through menopause are likely to experience hot flashes along with a feeling of nausea. Women are also likely to feel fatigued during menopause. The worst of all these symptoms is however mood swings during that come with menopause. These mood swings can make menopause even worse as they are likely to develop into full blown depression if not dealt with. Not every woman who is going through menopause will experience mood swings. Some factors that can put a woman at risk for developing menopausal mood swings include a history of depressional history, poor health and higher levels of stress.

  1. Healthy food

Since the body goes through a lot of physical changes during menopause, it takes some time before the body can adjust to all these changes and until then you are likely to feel drained out and fatigued. Healthy food especially greens are natural mood stabilizers and thus can be very helpful in avoiding menopausal mood swings.

Sleep is not only important to keep one fresh but it also plays a pivotal role in maintaining hormonal balance in the body. Hormonal imbalance is the only biological cause of mood swings. You should thus try to keep a healthy sleep schedule during your menopausal days. If you are unable to sleep due to hot flashes or insomnia which are common in menopause, you should get a sleeping pill prescription from a qualified doctor.

3.De-stress

Stress is a source of fatigue because the exhaustion that the body faces as a result of the fight-or-flight response. During menopause, external stress can make menopausal symptoms worse and your mood is likely to shift poles very easily. You should thus indulge in relaxing activities such as listening to good music and reading a book as much as you can.

  1. Aerobic exercise

Most of the menopausal mood swings are a result of hormonal changes which the body has to go through in order to stop menstruating. Aerobic exercise can be very helpful in countering the psychological impacts of these hormonal changes. Fifty minutes of aerobic exercise can help menopausal women release enough endorphins to prevent their mood swings.
