The DG Health expressed optimism that the functionalization of these Health Facilities would surely provide quality health services to the long-neglected local population. “Please keep continues monitoring supervision of concerned health facilities so that the functionalization is sustainable,” the letter reads. The DG health directed him to take similar initiative in future for functionalization of other health facilities as well. The District Health Officer South Waziristan was assured that any support need from the Director General Health Services KP would be surely provided, which is commendable because a number of health facilities are either closed or lack of basic facilities due to which the people of the area are facing great problems as they have to take their patients to the Dera Ismail Khan or Peshawar for even miner illness. Health remained the most neglected sector in the area; hence it needs the government immediate attention and more war-footing basis actions to resolve the issues.
