ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A total of 847 posts of Medical and Para Medical Staff are lying vacant in the Government Hospitals in Islamabad, the National Assembly was told on Friday.

In a written reply to a question by Ms. Zille Huma, the Minister for National Health Services, Regulations and Coordination told the House that 344 posts of Medical and 107 posts of Para Medical staff are lying vacant at PIMS Hospital in Islamabad.

The minister said that the posts of Charge Nurse and Pharmacist were advertised in the National Press on April 29, 2021. He told that interviews for the post of Charge Nurse have been completed and recruitment will be made in a couple of days whereas shortlisting has been done and the interviews for the post of Pharmacist will be scheduled in the current month.

The House was apprised that the advertisement for the post of Directors has been advertised in the press on October 15, 2021 and advertisement for the post of Faculty i.e. Professors, Associate Professors, Assistant Professors, Senior Registrar, and Paramedics are being advertised in few days.

Likewise, there are 284 posts of Medical and Para Medical staff lying vacant at Federal Government PolyClinic (FGPC) in Islamabad.

For filling up the gazetted posts, the FGPC has sent a request to the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). For filling up the posts of Para-Medical staff, the Establishment Division has conveyed NOC for 65 posts, which is being processed.

The minister further told that 74 posts of Medical & Para-Medical Staff are lying vacant at Federal General Hospital (FGH) in Islamabad. The gazetted vacancies have been sent to the FPSC for recruitment and non-gazetted vacancies will be advertised soon.

Similarly, there are 38 posts of Medical & Para-Medical Staff lying vacant in the National Institute of Rehabilitation Medicine (NIRM).

The House was told that steps are being taken to fill the posts of Medical and Paramedical Staff lying vacant in the NIRM.
