TEHRAN: Dr. Hassan Rouhani took oath as Iranian President in Tehran on Sunday.

He is seventh president of the Islamic Republic of Iran elected for a period of 4 years.

Eleven heads of state and two Prime Ministers attended the ceremony besides delegations from a number of countries. President Asif Ali Zardari represented Pakistan at the event.

Rouhani won Iran’s June 14 presidential election with 50.7 percent of a total of 36‚ 704‚ 156 votes. He has already been endorsed by Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.
