ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for IT and Telecommunication Syed Amin Ul Haque has said that work is underway for the provision of 4G Services in Gilgit-Baltistan.
In a meeting with the Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) Khalid Khurshid in Islamabad on Wednesday, the minister said that arrangements are in the final stage for the provision of Telephone, Internet and Cable Service under the Triple Bundle Services in Gilgit-Baltistan.
The IT Minister said that under the Prime Minister’s vision of Digital Pakistan, Broadband Services will be provided across the Country.
The Minister asked the Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan to point important tourist points in Northern Areas so that Broadband Services could be started there to facilitate tourists and for the promotion of tourism.
Syed Amin Ul Haque said that work is going on the project for upgrading the 2G towers for providing 4G Services on Karakorum Highway and its surrounding areas.
The Federal Minister for IT said that professionals who would work and get experiences in GB IT Park can play important role in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) projects.
The Chief Minister Gilgit-Baltistan lauded the steps and performance of the Ministry of IT & Telecom under the supervision of Syed Amin Ul Haque.
Meanwhile, the GB Minister for Planning & Development and Information Fateh Ullah Khan also met the Federal Minister for IT Syed Amin Ul Haque and discussed matters related to digitalization and e-governance.
