ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that in view of the past experiences, it is in the interest of democracy and the Country to use the electronic voting machine in the election process.
Speaking at a briefing regarding the progress on manufacturing of the electronic voting machine in Islamabad on Wednesday, the prime minister said that the government is committed to introduce the electronic voting machine to ensure transparency in the elections.
The prime minister directed to introduce modern security features in the proposed machine.
The meeting was briefed that the electronic voting machine will help to make the voting process transparent and fair and it will also secure results.
Imran Khan was apprised that the Ministry of Science and Technology, COMSATS, and the National Institute of Electronics (NIE) have jointly manufactured a machine which has been tested with encouraging results.
