ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: A New York based Capital Venture Firm has shown interest in Pakistan’s Startup Ecosystem, after meeting with the relevant government officials.
The meeting was held at the Finance Division in Islamabad on Wednesday with the Prime Minister’s Adviser on Finance and Revenue Dr Abdul Hafeez Shaikh in the Chair to discuss ways and means for enhancing foreign investment in the Pakistani Startup Ecosystem.
The meeting was attended among others by the Chief Digital Pakistan Ms. Tania Aidrus, the Governor State Bank of Pakistan Dr Reza Baqir, the Secretary Finance Naveed Kamran Baloch and investors from Thrive Capital, a New York based Venture Capital Firm with more than US$ 2 billion invested in assets under management.
During the meeting, representatives from Thrive Capital also expressed a desire to invest in the Pakistani Startup Ecosystem with a view to putting local startups on the map.
