ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Minister for Petroleum and Natural Resources Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has said that uninterrupted gas is being provided to the industry across the country.
Talking to a private news channel, he said some concrete steps were taken by the incumbent government to meet the gas shortage.
He said Pakistan had signed the cheapest and fair deal of Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) with Qatar and many international organizations had acknowledged the fact.
Pakistan would import LNG worth $one billion annually under the agreement and the country would get benefit of $0.6 billion from it, he said.
The minister said Khyber Pakhtunkhwa was on top of the list as far as gas theft was concerned. The gas being stolen in the province was more than any other part of the country, he added.
He said the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government had been officially approached to stop gas theft in the province but no step had yet been taken for the purpose.
