ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Turkish ambassador in Islamabad Ishan Mustafa Yardakul met National Security Adviser Lt General (retd) Nasser Khan Janjua on Monday, and pledged Turkey’s support to Pakistan’s stance at different regional and international forums including Financial Action Task Force (FATF).
“Turkey clearly recognizes the security challenges faced by Pakistan today and can even relate to them. Having trouble in neighborhoods, Turkey is also facing similar national security challenges,” the ambassador said in the meeting which was held in Islamabad to discuss besides promotion of Pak-Turkey bilateral relations, matters pertaining to security situation in the region, Middle East and Arab World.
The envoy expressed his gratitude for the love and affection he received in Pakistan on arrival and said that Pakistan is a close friend and a brother of Turkey. He acknowledged and appreciated the role of Pakistan for strengthening peace and stability of the region and for eliminating terrorism from its soil.
Nasser Janjua warmly received and welcomed the new ambassador to Pakistan and said that “Pakistan enjoys exemplary relations with Turkey. Warmth and deep affections shared by the people of both countries are also exemplary”.
The adviser said highlighted the complexed nature of the ongoing conflict in Afghanistan and the role of Pakistan to support and strengthen peace there.
The national security adviser also appreciated the role and contribution of Turkish President to the Muslim World. “He is the strongest voice of the Muslim World”.
The Turkish ambassador shared facts regarding the ongoing war in Syria and the adjacent areas.
During the meeting, both sides expressed satisfaction over the upward trajectory of bilateral relations. They reiterated to enhance bilateral engagements for extending cooperation in multidimensional spheres.
“We are doing remarkable things on our side and have full resolution to enhance and strengthen cooperation” the Turkish envoy said.
