ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed has said that the government will deal with an iron hand with those who take the law into their own hands.

While presiding over a meeting in Islamabad on Wednesday to review the law and order and the situation caused due to protest by the Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP), the interior minister directed the law enforcement agencies (LEAs) to ensure writ of the state at every cost.

The minister said that motorways, G.T Road and other roads have been cleared for traffic.

Sheikh Rashid said that Rangers have done an excellent job in collaboration with police and the administration in this regard.

The meeting was attended by the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs and Inter-faith Harmony Pir Noor-ul-Haq Qadri, the Secretary Interior, the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, and the Inspector General of Islamabad Police.

The IG Punjab Inam Ghani and the Commissioner Rawalpindi attended the meeting through video link.
