ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ministry of Religious Affairs has said that pilgrims stranded at Islamabad and Peshawar airports have been given a special permission to leave for Jeddah.

In a statement, the Spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that the Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Mufti Abdul Shakoor thanked the Saudi authorities for granting the special permission.

The Spokesperson said that the efforts of the Pakistani Ambassador to Saudi Arabia and the Hajj Mission to resolve the issue immediately are commendable.

The Spokesperson said that 123 pilgrims of private Hajj scheme are being transported by Air Blue and Saudi Air, adding that 25 government pilgrims at Islamabad airport are being sent from Peshawar and Lahore.

Furthermore, he said that Hajj visa holders are allowed to land at the Jeddah Airport until 12 midnight on the 7th of Zil-Haj.

The Spokesperson of the Ministry of Religious Affairs said that pilgrims with Hajj visa will be able to travel to the Jeddah Airport by any flight.
