ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The newly appointed Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Senator Syed Shibli Faraz and the Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Lt General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa met Prime Minister Imran Khan in Islamabad on Tuesday.

Earlier in the day, Senator Syed Shibli Faraz took the oath as the Minister for Information and Broadcasting on Tuesday.

President Dr. Arif Alvi administered the oath to him at a Ceremony held at the President House in Islamabad.

Both Shibli Faraz and Asim Saleem Bajwa were appointed to their respective posts on Monday.

The Chairman CPEC Authority Lt General (retd) Asim Saleem Bajwa replaced Dr. Firdous Ashiq Awan.

Meanwhile, the Federal Cabinet which met in Islamabad with Prime Minister Imran Khan in the Chair ratified decisions taken by the Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) including approval of a relief package of worth Rs 75 billion to provide financial assistance to labourers and daily wagers who lost their jobs due to Coronavirus pandemic.
