ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has extended felicitation Her Excellency Liz Truss on her appointment as Prime Minister of the United Kingdom.

In a Twitter statement on Wednesday, Shahbaz Sharif said that The UK is Pakistan’s time-tested friend and one of our largest trading and development partners.

“I am keen to work with her to further promote our historic relations,” he said.

The 47-year-old Liz Truss officially became Britain’s New Prime Minister on September 6 at an audience with Head of State Queen Elizabeth II after the resignation of Boris Johnson.

In his statement after he appointment as the leader of the Conservative Party and Prime Minister of the UK, Truss vowed to rebuild the UK and address issues of economy, energy, and health system while many have already questioned her leadership abilities, especially when it comes to foreign policy.
