ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Railways Roshan Khursheed Bharucha has showed interest in Eid activities of Pakistan Railways, and directed to give special discounts to senior citizens on the occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr.

The minister issued the directive in a meeting held at Ministry of Railways in Islamabad on Friday during which she was briefed about Railway Operations in the entire Country by the Director General Planning Mazhar Ali Shah.

The railways minister asked to give equal representation to all provinces in Railway Board. She showed interest in railway operation that is expanded at 7791 kilometers. She was enlightened about ML I, ML II and ML III.

It was briefed to her that Pakistan Railways faced its worst time during 2012-2013 but for last four year, things have improved for Pakistan Railways. A proper improvement strategy has been devised including de-politicization.

The minister was also briefed about Public Private Partnership in Pakistan Railways.

The railways minister applauded customer facilitation activities including punctuality, cleanliness, train lighting and E-ticketing.

The minister was told that Pakistan Railways is given priority in China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

The Chairman Ministry of Railways Javed Anwar told that Pakistan Railways has reached its highest ever revenue in last three years due to team work.

This meeting was also attended by the Secretary Railway Board Farukh Taimur Ghilzai, the Director General Planning Mazhar Ali Shah, the Director General Technical Munawar Ali Shah, the Director General DG Operations Maryam Gillani and the Member Finance Faisal Ismaeli.
