ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has said that it is just the beginning and the scope of Kamyab Jawan Program will be further expanded in the future.

While addressing a Ceremony held in Islamabad on Friday to distribute cheques among successful applicants of Youth Entrepreneurship Scheme (YES) under Kamyab Jawan Program, the prime minister said that 1 to 1.5 million youth applied for loans in the program in a short period of time, of which 190,000 were women which shows the success of the program. He said that active participation of women in business activities is a good omen for the Country.

Imran Khan said that transparency in Kamyab Jawan Program is of utmost importance in order to meet the expectations of the people.

The prime minister said that the government will facilitate small and medium businesses for job creation in the Country. It is the government’s job to remove obstacles in the way of business, he added.

The prime minister said that small and medium industries employ a large number of people and play an important role in economic development of the Country.

Highlighting the importance of tourism business in the Country, he said that Pakistan is blessed with many beautiful and scenic places and local youth can get benefit by creating new tourism-related businesses to attract domestic and foreign tourists. He said that it will also help in generating the revenue and foreign exchange reserves.

Earlier addressing the Cheques Distribution Ceremony, the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar said that Kamyab Jawan Program is being run on merit as per directions of the prime minister. He said that applications for loans have been received from all districts of the Country.

IT-related proposals to be given preference to grant loans under Kamyab Jawan Program: Usman Dar

Usman Dar said that youth will be directly or indirectly employed with the provision of loans for businesses. He said that proposals relating to the Information Technology (IT) will be given preference in granting loans. He said that one million youth will benefit from this program.

The special assistant on youth affairs said that the loan program is for those business ventures that have potential to grow.
