ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that the federal government has set the target of disbursing loans worth Rs 50 billion in 2022 under the Kamyab Jawan Program to promote entrepreneurship amongst youth and create job opportunities in the Country.

While addressing a Press Conference along with the Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Youth Affairs Usman Dar in Islamabad on Saturday, Farrukh Habib pointed out that loans of Rs 30 billion were disbursed under the Kamyab Jawan Program over the last two years under which 22,000 new businesses were opened, providing 50,000 direct jobs to the youth and indirectly leading to the creation of thousands of other jobs.

The state minister said that startups are especially being promoted under the Kamyab Jawan Program. He said that a proposal will be floated in the Federal Cabinet for approval under which no guarantee will be sought from those acquiring loans up to Rs 2 million.

Farrukh Habib said that under the Rs 10 billion Skill for All Program, hi-tech certification is being provided to the youth in areas such as artificial intelligence, cloud computing, graphic designing, and so on.

Under the program, scholarships have been awarded to 100,000 youth whilst another 61,000 will be provided on January 31, 2022, he said.

The minister said that the government is targeting to enhance its IT exports to US$ 3 billion during the ongoing Fiscal Year 2021-22 and the skill development program will help strengthen our IT exports.

In his remarks, Usman Dar said that 2022 has been declared as the year of youth and different activities will be arranged during it to promote the soft image of Pakistan.

The Special Assistant said that we are also considering to launch the Sports Scholarship Program for the youth.

Usman Dar said that loans under the Kamyab Jawan Program are being provided in the most transparent manner.
