LAHORE, Pakistan: The Punjab Cabinet held its 41st Meeting in Lahore on Monday with the Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar in the Chair, in which it accorded approval to build a 200-bed Mother and Child Hospital at Old Grain Market Site in Multan.

It was also decided in the Meeting to pay the special allowance to the doctors of the Department of Population Welfare.

In a statement, Usman Buzdar said that not they will provide free health insurance to the entire population of Punjab by the end of 2021 rather they are also building 12 new hospitals in the Public Sector to ensure the availability of best health facilities to the people.

It’s worth noting that a 1,000-bed Nishtar Hospital II in Multan is already under construction.

In its meeting, the Punjab Cabinet also accorded approval to the financial model for the Construction of 35,000 apartments in Lahore. A consortium of seven banks will grant loans under the Mortgage Financing.

The applicants for houses under the Naya Pakistan Housing Programme as well as low-scale government employees will be eligible for the apartments.

The Punjab Cabinet also approved the one-scale promotion of 11,000 low-scale government employees.

Bides, the Cabinet also decided to form a Committee on the regularization of Katchi Abadis (slums) in Punjab.

In addition, the Cabinet also approved setting up two new Cement Plants in Mianwali and Dera Ghazi Khan.

The approval was also granted to the Punjab Urban and Peri-Urban Forest Policy 2020 and the Punjab Museum Board Act 2021.
