ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Federal Minister for Commerce Engineer Khurram Dastgir Khan has said boycott of joint session of the Parliament by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) was not new but it was a habitual act of the party on important occasions.
Talking to a private TV channel, he said when the legislation was made against the terrorism, PTI had not attended the parliament.
The minister said politicians were the elected representatives of the people and they were accountable only before them, adding if members had any shortcomings in their performance then they were only answerable before the Parliament and the people of the country.
Replying to a question, he said it was victory of the democratic system that the matter of Panama Papers was being discussed in the Supreme Court instead on roads.
Khurram said people had elected PTI for resolving their problems in the Parliament but it was raising hue and cry only on the roads.
He claimed PTI members were not attending the Parliament session but they were taking salaries regularly.
