Government of PakistanPTI fully respects all state institutions including ECP: Fawad Chaudhry

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Science and Technology Chaudhry Fawad Hussain has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and his entire party fully respect all the state institutions including the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP).

However, he said that the ECP should have demonstrated its independence and impartiality through acts instead of issuing press releases.

While addressing a Press Conference along with the Minister for Information and Broadcasting Syed Shibli Faraz and the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Ali Zafar at the Press Information Department (PID) in Islamabad on Friday, the minister said that it is the joint responsibility of the government and the ECP to evolve a mechanism to ensure transparency in the polling process.

The minister said that transparency in elections is the pillar of the PTI’s policy.

Chaudhry Fawad Hussain said that 177 members of the National Assembly belonging to PTI and allied parties have reached Islamabad and hopefully 179 MNA will repose their trust in the leadership of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

In his remarks, Senator Shibli Faraz said that Prime Minister Imran Khan and his party want transparent elections to strengthen democracy in the Country.

Syed Shibli Faraz said that it is unfortunate that Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) and the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) nurtured the politics of money and corruption in Pakistan, which adversely affected the morality of the nation.

The information minister said that the recent Senate Elections have vindicated our stance that horse-trading is undertaken in the polling process.
