Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) - ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Science and Technology has nominated board members of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) in sheer violation of the merit. The Secretary Science and Technology sent a Summary to Prime Minister Imran Khan for his approval for the appointment of board members of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF). According to the sources, Professor Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry Director Research Institute of Chemistry Karachi, Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed former Vice Chancellor Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi, Dr. Siama Hashmi Chairman Department of Science Agriculture University Peshawar, Dr. Farhatullah, Dr. Saleem, Dr. Dilnawaz Gardezi, Dr. Qasim Kakar, Dr. Ibrahim and Dr. Ghulam Jilani were nominated for the board members. They were of the view, the merit has been completely violated in the nomination of the board members, as those who were on the top in the list of the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) were ignored altogether. The sources said that under the PSF act, it was obligatory for the board members to be eminent scientists. However, they were of the view that there was only one scientist included in the nine nominated board members. The Ministry of Science has appointed university teachers on personal choice because the nominated board’s members have no relevant experience in science and research.ISLAMABAD: The Ministry of Science and Technology has nominated the board members of the Pakistan Science Foundation (PSF) in sheer violation of the merit.

According to the sources, the Director Research Institute of Chemistry in Karachi Professor Muhammad Iqbal Chaudhry, the former Vice Chancellor Arid Agriculture University Rawalpindi Professor Dr. Niaz Ahmed, the Chairman Department of Science Agriculture University Peshawar Dr. Siama Hashmi, Dr. Farhatullah, Dr. Saleem, Dr. Dilnawaz Gardezi, Dr. Qasim Kakar, Dr. Ibrahim, and Dr. Ghulam Jilani were nominated for the board members.

They were of the view that the merit has been completely violated in the nomination of the board members as those who were on the top in the list of the Pakistan Council for Science and Technology (PCST) were ignored altogether.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
