ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Wednesday launched the Small and Medium Enterprises (SME) Policy 2021.

In his address at the Launching Ceremony, the prime minister reiterated his government’s resolve to support Small and Medium Enterprises for robust economic growth through exports.

The prime minister said that the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government is taking every possible step to facilitate the youth in establishing businesses including startups.

Underlining the importance of SMEs in the Country’s development, he urged the private sector to facilitate the government’s initiative of providing more facilities to new businesses.

The prime minister said that stern action will be taken against all those elements that can create hurdles in the way of exports and the agriculture industry. He said that all impediments are being removed to facilitate the registration process of SMEs.

Imran Khan also said that despite COVID-19 challenges, our government received record remittances, tax collection, and export revenue.

Earlier, the Minister for Industries and Production Makhdum Khusro Bakhtyar said that to facilitate new businesses we have fixed around 19,000 plots for lease on easy installments.

The minister said that an amount of Rs 30 billion will be fixed for revamping the Small and Medium Enterprises Development Authority (SMEDA) to facilitate the SME Sector.
