ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday launched “Hunarmand Pakistan – Skill for All”, the Country’s largest ever skilled development program aimed at emancipation of youth through quality professional training.

The Launching Ceremony was held at Jinnah Convention Centre in Islamabad.

Costing Rs 30 billion, the Hunarmand Pakistan Program will be carried out in next four years, and will facilitate youth through easy loans, professional capacity-building, start-ups and internships.

In the first phase, around 170,000 youth will be given professional skill-based training, of which 50,000 will be trained in areas of artificial intelligence, robotics, cloud computing and other advanced areas of technology.

Similarly, 50,000 youth will be given training at the Technical Education and Vocational Training Authority (TEVTA) in conventional areas including auto-mechanics, plumbing etc., whereas twenty thousand youth will be given apprenticeship.

Around 75 smart class rooms will be set up to ensure easy access to skill and professional education besides provision of such training at 70 madaris.

Besides, five Centres of Excellence will also be established under the program in collaboration with friendly Countries.

The Hunarmand Pakistan Program has been initiated under the Prime Minister’s Kamyab Jawan National Youth Development Programme over the recommendations of National Skills Strategy Task Force headed by the Federal Minister for Education and Professional Training Shafqat Mahmood.

Earlier on Wednesday, Prime Minister Imran Khan presided over the pre-launch meeting of ‘Hunarmand Pakistan’ in which he said that the program would help youth get better job opportunities and contribute to national development.
