The Digital Pakistan Vision sets Pakistan’s digital ambition and has been designed for the government and the private sector to work towards a digitally progressive and inclusive Pakistan.
The Vision brings together multiple initiatives that the government has already kicked off, and identifies additional focus areas that the government will initiate in the coming months.
One of the important initiatives of Digital Pakistan is creating literacy & developing relevant skills in the youth
Through this extraordinary step, youth will be equipped with cutting edge skills that will assist them in competing globally.
The Digital Pakistan Vision covers following five strategic pillars;
- Access and Connectivity that ensures every Pakistani has access to internet that is a fundamental right that we need to make available universally and especially to underserved populations.
- Digital infrastructure that creates the ability to do most daily tasks using smart-phones in a secure and a faster manner.
- E-governance that digitizes intra-government operations and processes towards a paperless and efficient environment and also digitizes the government services for citizens.
- Digital Skilling and Literacy that enables our technical graduates to secure relevant jobs.
- Innovation and Entrepreneurship that provides an enabling environment for startups to flourish.
These five pillars, supported by a forward-looking policy and a broader legal framework, will set us on the path to becoming a truly Digital Pakistan.
Digitalisation is another step forward towards prosperity taken by the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) government. Through digitalisation, all segments of the society will have equal access to the government services.
Digital Pakistan will not only revive the existing infrastructure but also introduce new ones, ensuring security & efficiency
Tania Aidrus, who earlier resigned as Google’s Senior Executive, will lead the Digital Pakistan initiative.
