ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan on Friday felicitated his British Counterpart Boris Johnson for his success in the UK General Elections.

“Congratulations to Prime Minister Boris Johnson for his success in the UK General Elections. I look forward to working with him and continuing the cooperation between our two Countries,” Imran Khan said in his felicitation message to his British Counterpart.

The British Prime Minister Boris Johnson and his Conservative Party secured a sweeping victory in the parliamentary election, winning more than 360 of the 650 seats in the House of Commons – the party’s largest majority since under Margaret Thatcher in the 1980s.

While speaking in London, the British prime minister said that he has a “powerful new mandate” to take the United Kingdom out of the European Union (EU) next month “no ifs, no buts”.

“This One Nation Conservative government has been given a powerful new mandate to get Brexit done, unite this Country and move it forward,” Boris said at the Conservative Party Headquarters in London.
