ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has accorded the approval to the Nullah Lai Expressway Project in Rawalpindi.

The Nullah Lai Expressway Project worth Rs 75 billion will be completed in two years under the Public Private Partnership (PPP).

Under the project, an Expressway will be built on both sides of the Nullah Lai.

Two Malls will also be constructed on the State-owned land.

While chairing a meeting in Islamabad on Thursday, the prime minister directed to initiate the work on the project immediately.

The prime minister also directed that along with this project, the process of zoning of the concerned area and changes in the bye-laws in this regard should also be completed in a few weeks so that Multi-Storey Buildings and Commercial Markets could be built.

The meeting was attended by the Minister for Interior Sheikh Rashid Ahmed and Senior Officers.

The Punjab Chief Minister’s Advisor Dr Salman Shah and the Provincial Chief Secretary also attended the meeting via Video Link.

The prime minister said that it’s among their top priorities to solve problems of Rawalpindi’s residents.

Imran Khan said that the project will turn out to be a milestone in the City’s transformation.

In the meeting, a detailed briefing was also given to the prime minister on the Rawalpindi Ring Road Project.
