ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Pakistan Jiang Zaidong called on President Asif Ali Zardari at Aiwan-e-Sadr in Islamabad on Thursday.
The meeting discussed matters of mutual interest, besides underscoring the need to increase counter-terrorism cooperation and intelligence sharing to overcome the menace of terrorism.
President Zardari assured the Chinese ambassador that Pakistan would take all necessary measures to ensure the security of our Chinese brothers, who are working on different projects in Pakistan.

Separately, the Russian Ambassador to Pakistan Albert Khorev also met with President Asif Ali Zardari and discussed issues related to bilateral relations and other mutual interests.
Talking to him, the president said that Pakistan wants to promote cooperation in the fields of energy and barter trade with Russia.
President Zardari said that Russia should encourage Russian banks to start operations in Pakistan to promote trade with Pakistan.
