President Dr. Arif Alvi along with his family members and official staff is in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj 2023.
The president arrived in Jeddah on Sunday wherein he was received at King Abdulaziz International Airport by the Deputy Governor of the Makkah region Prince Badr bin Sultan bin Abdulaziz.

Meanwhile, there are conflicting reports about who is bearing the expenses of the president and his family’s travel to the Kingdom for pilgrimage.
The Private Media Outlet ‘Neo News Network’ claimed that President Arif Alvi had decided to perform Hajj along with his entire family at government expense.
The Neo News reported on June 11 that the president would perform Hajj along with 26 people including 11 staff members and security personnel.
It further reported that the president had forwarded the passports and other documents of his entourage to the concerned Departments and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in addition to giving instructions to make special arrangements for the protocol.
However, the Consultant to the President of Pakistan – Muhammad Adil Ansari – has refuted the claims by the Neo News Network, and hoped that the Channel would apologize to President Arif Alvi on running this false and absurd news.

Adil Ansari wrote on Twitter that President Dr. Arif Alvi and his family members are bearing their own expenses of performing the Hajj.
“President Dr. Arif Alvi has departed for KSA to perform Hajj. The entourage is of 12 ppl (incl Security) while President & family bearing their own expenses & not a penny on exchequer. Imagine the Head of State has gone with utmost minimal security detail. Unprecedented,” Ansari wrote.

Separately, the federal government has taken a special initiative to facilitate Parliamentarians in performing the Hajj pilgrimage by arranging a dedicated flight for their convenience.
