LAHORE, Pakistan: President Dr. Arif Alvi on Thursday underlined the need for the construction of new ships for Pakistan Navy.

In his address at the Concluding Ceremony of Maritime Security Workshop in Lahore, the president said that Pakistan armed forces are one of the most experienced forces in the world and we are proud of our armed forces.

The president said that despite its limited resources, Pakistan Navy has effectively safeguarded the maritime frontiers of the motherland. He said that Pakistan Navy has conveyed a message to the world that how efficiently it can protect maritime interests of Pakistan and deter aggression at and from sea.

Arif Alvi further said that steps have been taken to stop foreign intervention in the affairs of Balochistan. He said that trade activities will be increased in the future due to Gwadar Port.
