ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The terrorists attacked a polio team in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa’s Bajaur area, leaving a Police Constable and a Polio Worker martyred in the attack.

Meanwhile, in a statement on Wednesday, the Federal Minister for Interior paid tribute to Police Constable Luqman and polio worker Abu Huraira who were martyred in the attack.

The minister expressed deep sympathy and offered condolences to the families of the martyred Police Constable Luqman and Polio Worker Abu Huraira.

Mohsin Naqvi said that Constable Luqman and Polio Worker Abu Huraira attained the high rank of martyrdom while on duty.

The interior minister said that those who carry out cowardly attacks on those safeguarding Pakistan’s future do not deserve any leniency. He added that this is an attack on the safe future of Pakistan’s children.

It’s worth noting that a week-long special anti-polio vaccination drive is underway across the Country.

During the campaign, children up to five years of age are being administered anti-polio vaccine drops.

The drive aims to vaccinate 30 million children across 115 districts of the Country.
