ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Minister for Economic Affairs Hammad Azhar on Tuesday said the federal government was preparing a new policy aimed at addressing the challenges in the way of the growth of the Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs).
While addressing Pakistan Innovative Finance Forum organized by the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Islamabad, the minister said the government had also taken many other initiatives to promote the SMEs including the Kamyaab Jawan Programme to provide subsidized loans to the youth.
Hammed Azhar noted that the SMEs were backbone of their economy and they had an important role in exports and the economic growth.
The federal minister said the government was also giving special emphasis on ease of doing business. He said Pakistan had jumped 28 points in the World Bank’s Ease of Doing Business Ranking. That, he added, was a great achievement and expressed the confidence that the Country’s ranking would further improve next year.
