Government of PakistanPML-N govt to accept SC verdict on Panama Papers: Mushahidullah

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The ruling Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) Senator Mushahidullah Khan has said that the federal government will accept the decision of Supreme Court in the Panama Papers case.

Talking to a private news channel on Tuesday, he said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif made a history by presenting himself for accountability.

Mushahidullah Khan said that Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif was a democratic person who had rendered sacrifices for democracy and all institutions were affectively working under his dynamic leadership.

Senator Mushahidullah said the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) leadership was just doing politics on the Panama Papers. He said the PTI had failed to deliver good governance in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa where it was in power but despite that it was criticizing every welfare project of the PML-N government.

Earlier in the day, the Supreme Court rejected the plea of Prime Minister’s elder son Hussain Nawaz for stopping Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing Panama Papers case from video-recording of the proceedings.

In its detailed judgment, the three-member bench of the apex court headed by Justice Ijaz Afzal said that video recordings were only used to prepare transcript of the statements.

However, the bench said that until the law was amended, the video recordings would not be shown in the court-room. It also said that video recordings could not be presented as evidence before the court.
