ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N)-led federal government on Monday requested the Supreme Court to make public volume 10 of the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) report.
While talking to media representative outside the Supreme Court in Islamabad, the Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Marriyum Aurangzeb demanded that the volume 10 of the JIT report should be made public.
The minister said that the JIT probing Panama Papers case does not reflect the decision of the Supreme Court. She questioned that under what rule the JIT is still working.
Marriyum said that the Supreme Court is not bound to accept the recommendations of the JIT report. She expressed the confidence that the apex court will give its verdict according to law of the Country.
The state minister further said that documents submitted by the JIT are not verified, and asked as to who will take the ownership of these documents.
Marriyum Aurangzeb said that the JIT could not find any evidence against Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif about corruption or money laundering of public money during his tenure of holding public offices for 35 years.
The minister said that a group of people is engaged in hatching conspiracies against the prime minister. However, she added, nefarious designs will be exposed after the decision of the Supreme Court in Panama Papers Case.
