ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif has approved the immediate provision of Rs 23 billion to solve the problems of the people of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The approval was given at a special meeting chaired by Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif in Islamabad on Monday.

The meeting – attended by the Prime Minister of Azad Jammu and Kashmir and the top political leadership – took stock of the current situation in AJK.

The ministers and leaders of coalition parties also participated in the meeting.

The Kashmiri leadership and other participants thanked the prime minister for the announcement regarding provision of funds.
