ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Muhammad Nawaz Sharif Monday congratulated Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar on being declared “Finance Minister of the year 2016 for South Asia” by `Emerging Markets’, the newspaper of the IMF/World Bank Annual Meeting.

“This is a befitting recognition of his illustrious toil for reviving the economy of Pakistan and achieving economic stability,” the prime minister commented.

He said major International Financial Institutions had already lent their credence to the economic turnaround achieved by the country due to the efforts of the finance minister and his vibrant economic team. Now the declaration by the publication of IMF/World Bank Annual Meetings is a testimony of Pakistan’s renewed economic credentials for which Mohammad Ishaq Dar and his team deserved immense appreciation.

“I am confident that Ishaq Dar will continue to consolidate the gains of economic stability achieved due to his prudent and sound economic input, and work towards achieving macroeconomic stability aimed at revolutionizing the lives of our people and making Pakistan a truly prosperous and developed country,” the prime minister added.
