ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Wednesday expressed his condolence over the loss of life of Major Ishaq who embraced martyrdom during an operation against terrorists in Dera Ismail Khan.

Earlier the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said that the Security Forces conducted a search operation in Kulachi are of Dera Ismail Khan on presence of terrorists in a hide out. However, Major Ishaq embraced shahadat in the exchange of fire with terrorists.

In a statement, the prime minister expressed his deep sympathies with the bereaved family.

The prime minister lauded the sacrifices of the security forces for the defense and security of the Country.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for the courage of bereaved family to bear this loss with fortitude.

The 28-year-old Major Ishaq Shaheed belonged to Khushab, Punjab. He left behind a widow and a-year-old son.

His funeral prayer was held at Dera Ismail Khan in which the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa other officials also participated.

“We have a sacred duty at hand of cleansing & defending our motherland; WE SHALL DO IT,” the ISPR expressed the resolve.
