ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Thursday announced Rs 1 billion for Education Endowment Fund launched under Benazir Income Support Programme (BISP), saying the Fund would help generate jobs and alleviate poverty from the Country.

While addressing a ceremony of BISP Graduation Programme and Endowment Fund held in Islamabad, the prime minister said they were proud over the successes achieved under BISP Programme during last four years.

Shahid Khaqan Abbasi said BISP was facilitating the poor and needy people, adding now its scope was being enhanced. He said under BISP, women were made self-sufficient through imparting them education. He said the provision of education facilities under the programme had immense significance.

The prime minister expressed the hope that the upcoming government would also continue the BISP Programme. He said the government was taking every possible step to ensure poverty alleviation.

Khaqan Abbasi said the incumbent was ready to extend its all-out support to deserving people whenever required.
