ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: The Prime Minister’s Special Assistant on Information and Broadcasting Dr Firdous Ashiq Awan has said that Prime Minister Imran Khan will lead the demonstration in front of the PM’s Office in Islamabad on Friday to express solidarity with Kashmir brethren against Indian oppression

While addressing a function in Islamabad on Wednesday, Dr Firdous said that the people will come out of their houses, work places, and educational institutions at 12 noon Friday and stand for three minutes to express solidarity with the Kashmiris.

The special assistant said that the Provincial Chief Ministers and the governments of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) and Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) will also lead demonstrations in their respective areas on Friday.

Dr Firdous said that the Pakistani nation will give a strong message to the world by expressing solidarity with oppressed people of the Indian Occupied Kashmir (IOK) on Friday. She appealed to every segment of the society to come out and demonstrate solidarity with the Kashmiris on the call of Prime Minister Imran Khan.

The demonstrations will take place as part of the strategy unveiled by Prime Minister Imran Khan in his televised address to the nation on Monday to express solidarity with the people of the IOK every week.

The prime minister also appealed the people to stand from 1200 hours to 1230 hours on coming Friday to send across a message that we are standing with Kashmiris.

The Air Chief reiterated his resolve to further enhance the existing bilateral cooperation between the two strategic partners. Commander AFCENT appreciated Pakistan’s efforts in promoting regional peace and vowed to enhance cooperation in the fields of joint training, mutual exercises and military to military collaboration. In a separate meeting, Chief of the Air Staff also called on Field Marshal Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa, Commander-in-Chief of the Bahrain Defence Force.
