Government of PakistanPM Imran Khan strongly denounces rocket attack in Kabul

ISLAMABAD, Pakistan: Prime Minister Imran Khan has strongly condemned the rocket attack launched near the President’s Palace in Kabul.

Earlier on Tuesday, at least a dozen missiles were fired near the Presidential Palace and Diplomatic Zone in the Afghan Capital.

“Cowardly act manifests defeatist mindset. We stand with the Afghan people in defeating coward mentality,” Imran Khan said in a statement on Tuesday.

The rocket attack, which caused injuries to two persons, was carried out when the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani was delivering a speech at an Eid-Ul-Azha Ceremony.

Pakistan’s Foreign Office Spokesperson Dr Muhammad Faisal also said in a twitter message that “Pakistan condemns reports of attacks at the Afghan presidential palace – such incidents especially at the joyous occasion of Eid are all the more reprehensible.”

The attack took place two days after the Afghan President Ashraf Ghani offered a conditional three-month ceasefire to the Taliban.

Though it wasn’t clear that who was behind the rocket attack in Kabul.
